of the Summit and made important statements about the capital markets. Commenting about his contacts with foreign investors, Şimşek mentioned about the intense interest of investors in such meetings. The gala dinner of the Summit has been the scene to the launch of the Journal of Capital Markets Studies, the new international peer-reviewed journal that our Association began publishing in cooperation with the leading publishing house Emerald Publishing Group with the aim of furthering the sector’s connection with the academic circles. Furthermore, a B2B space was set up in the exhibition area where manufacturing industry and TCMA member intermediary institutions and asset management companies came together. 14 TCMA members, of which 10 were intermediary institutions, one was a bank and three were asset management companies, applied to have contacts with 50 different companies. From among our members, six intermediary institutions and two asset management companies had 32 meetings with 18 companies in four different halls. MASAK Workshop On 21 November 2017, a workshop was co-organized in İstanbul by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) and the Association to create increased awareness among our members that have significant obligations with respect to preventive actions related to anti money- laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT), to secure higher efficiency in the implementation of applicable legislation, and to exchange opinions about implementation. During the Workshop, information was shared regarding statistics and results of suspicious transaction notifications. In addition, the results of the liability audit conducted within the scope of know-your- customer principle were evaluated, and emphasis was placed on international risk assessment in combating money laundering and terrorist financing. Within the scope of the Workshop, TCMA Training Director Gökhan Büyükşengür, Ph.D. provided information about the structure of the capital market and also once again raised the sector’s demand that the address sharing system be made available to intermediary institutions given that distance contracts are allowed. 19 th Extraordinary General Meeting The 19 th Extraordinary General Meeting convened
