Sponsored by 23 establishments, the congress was also supported by 21 institutions and four communication partners. 35 panels under the four main topics of “PostCoronavirus Economy and Financial Markets”, “Sustainability”, “Digital Transformation and Future Scenarios” and “New Generation Entrepreneurship and Capital Market Capabilities” were addressed in 23 training programs. While 210 speakers were featured in all panels and training programs, three main speakers and 11 honorary guest speakers took part in the Summit. The main speakers were James Rickards, the author of widely acclaimed books “The New Great Depression” and “Currency Wars”, Prof. Emin Gün Sirer, Ava Labs CEO, and Prof. Jeffrey D. Sachs, the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at the Columbia University who was twice named among Time magazine’s 100 most influential world leaders and ranked among the world’s most influential three living economists by The Economist. The participants comprised of finance professionals, individual and institutional investors, real sector representatives, academics and university students followed the online live sessions held on 15 different topics, which featured 62 experts, market representatives and academics as speakers throughout the week. In the sessions held online throughout the event, experts tackled a wide variety of topics ranging from sustainability principles at public companies to sustainable finance instruments, crowdfunding to portfolio management within the scope of private pension system, use of AI in the capital market to algorithmic trading, blockchain and smart contracts to alternative financing sources for startups, investing in agricultural commodity with electronic product certificates to adaptation of Generation Z to the finance sector. 5th Turkish Capital Markets Summit The fifth edition of the Turkish Capital Markets Summit was held on 16-17 November 2021 by the Turkish Capital Markets Association with the support of the Presidency of Türkiye Finance Office and the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye (CMB), and with Borsa İstanbul Group as the main sponsor.
